Ottawa, Ontario. and New York, NY, March 17, 2003

S5 Systems, a developer of wireless application infrastructure products and technologies, and Micro Java Network, the largest independent network dedicated to wireless Java development, today announced that the two organizations have entered into a strategic agreement to bundle their offerings to provide a full-scale provisioning and publishing solution.

Under the terms of the agreement the parties will work together to integrate their technology and collaborate in mutual business development. S5 and Micro Java Network will co-market the resulting joint solution as an end-to-end solution for wireless Java application aggregation, management, and deployment for wireless carriers, device manufacturers, and mobile portal operators.

S5 Systems described the arrangement as a key building block in S5’s corporate plan. “Micro Java Network is a key resource and an important community for the advancement of Java development on mobile devices,” said Yogesh Shah, COO of S5 Systems. “Partnering with MJN provides S5 Systems with a strategic marketing advantage and we are looking forward to a strong and very productive relationship.”

“S5 Systems has developed technology that we view as important to the rapid evolution of wireless Java devices and related infrastructure," said Andy Sullivan, Managing Director of Micro Java Network. "Combining our efforts on multiple levels will further increase Micro Java Network’s momentum and will spawn many new initiatives, much to the benefit of our member developers."

The S5 Systems/Micro Java Network agreement will see the two firms undertaking software evaluation including testing, trials and specification development. In addition, technologies from both companies will be used to create more compelling demonstrations for operators, device manufacturers and application service providers.
